Fred Forbes

My wife, Carolyn and I have been residents of Bonita Springs’ Hunters-Ridge since May 1996. Chairman of first Hunters Ridge External Affairs, Board-Member 2009-present, President 2011- January 2020.  Community Accomplishments: Successfully appealed the FDOT turndown for a Community Sound-wall, developed strategy and acquired our sewage-treatment faculty resulting in huge residents’ savings, designed Snack-bar, renovation of the 1998 Grill Room, developed preliminary-plans and a member loan program leading to the total renovation-expansion of our 1998 Clubhouse’s kitchen and main dining room. 

 

Won 2012 citywide election for Fire Commissioner focusing on getting a new fire-station East of I-75 and another station rebuilt.  Elected in 2016 and reelected in 2020 to City Council.  Saved the City significant funds, sponsored development code and process improvements.  Serve on MPO Board and elected chairman from February 2020 – January 2021.  Currently President of the Southwest Chapter of The Florida League of Cities (FLC)

 

Worked as an Aerospace-Engineer for the USAF leaving as a Branch Chief to start an Architectural/Engineering Firm, president for 20 years.  Closed firm to be an undercabinet officer for Ohio Governor.  Served 8 years, retired reopening A/E practice. Been president of many professionai/community organizations/clubs.
